About St. Joseph's Pre-School Playgroup
Registered Charity No:1020613 (PLA No:30289)
Introduction
St. Joseph's Pre-School Playgroup was founded in 1981 and is housed adjacent in St. Joseph's Parish Centre, adjacent to the Church. It was originally set up to cater for Catholic children in the Redhill, Reigate and Merstham parishes.
When places in playgroup become available over and above those required for Catholic children, the playgroup welcomes any children regardless of family status, disability, colour, ethnic origin, culture, religion or belief. (see Registering your child).
As well as having its dedicated playgroup room and separate activity room, we have use of the parish hall and a fenced outside play area. Ample car parking is available on site for the dropping off and collection of children.
Committee
St. Joseph's Pre-School Playgroup is a registered charity and a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA).
In accordance with our constitution we hold an annual general meeting where the committee is elected from parents.
This elected committee is responsible for making sure that agreed policies are implemented, for organising fundraising events and for seeing that the group runs in accordance with its legal and constitutional obligations.
The committee is made up of chair, vice chair, treasurer, secretary and other elected members who meet approximately twice a term. Any parent/guardian of children attending playgroup is welcome to come along to these meetings, and to join the committee.
For more information about the Committee please contact Us.
Our Aim
Our playgroup is a place where your child will have the opportunity to:
- learn through play in a safe, stimulating environment;
- enjoy the company of other children and meet adults from outside the family;

- develop at his/ her own pace with plenty of adult support following the Stepping Stones as set out in the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage of Education;
- grow in self confidence and gain independence.

Monday - Friday :
